"Greece in the Opera"
A journey in the cultural and fantastic roots of the Opera:
The myths, the gods and the heroes of the Greek in Music, from Vivaldi to Strauss
Greece and Opera: the best young Greek singers will be introduced to italian public in a concert of opera airs, some very famous, some very rare, with Cameristi della Scala orchestra conducted by Alessandro Ferrari.
An occasion to deep the roots of the Opera in the history and in the Hellenic Myth, whereas the Teatro alla Scala has resumed the Elektra of Richard Strauss (may 7th) and the Scala's Theatrical Museum inaugurates the extension "Hellenic Myths and Ancien Drama in the Scala Theatre".
Elena Kelessidi, by now within the more acclaimed stars more at the Covent Garden, Vassiliky Karajanni, emergent coloratrura soprano in the Wiener Staatsoper, they are numerous the Greek young singers the continue the extraordinary musical tradition that has created Maria Callas, but also Soliutis, Baltsa, Stratas.
The concert in the Dal Verme Theatre, organised by Helena Matheopoulos, journalist and writer, author of many famous books like "Maestro", "Bravo" and the Placido Domingo's arthistic biografy, with yhe support of Ministry of Hellenic Culture, Foreign Office, Tourism, National Bank of Greece and Atos Origin, presents both stars already affirmed and young promises in a program that spaces from Haendel to Gluck and Gounod until the pyrotechnician Zerbinetta's air from Ariadne auf Naxos of Richard Strauss.
